Also of note is that as this is my first time watching the series, I will not be covering the background of any of the characters. Maybe I will after I've finished the series but my current plans are to just record the feats and arsenals of the characters as I watch the series.
MS-06 Zaku II
As far as I can tell, this is the standard issue 'Mobile Suit' for Zeon soldiers. In Gundam Rising the character Gene uses one of these to attack and destroy mobile suits. The explosions created by him firing at the mobile suits were powerful enough to create tremors which could be felt in bomb shelters. Furthermore this unit was clearly much more superior then any standard issue military equipment that it was facing off against at the time. Just one shot from its rifle was enough to blow up a tank. Its implied that one of the more explosive attacks from this unit was able to leave crater in the ground, killing dozens of people.
The amount of damage these two units caused is elaborated on in the next episode; "every soldier and engineer is gone all destroyed by only two Zakus". Out of all the people Amuro saved, only ten of them are combat ready.
In Re-Entry to Earth Komusai was able to use one of these units with the Heat Hawk. Despite the one of the arms being damaged, Komusai was still able to use his other arm with enough effectiveness as to slice through the RX-78-2 Gundam's Shield. Although it got quickly batted away by the Gundam's Gundam Hammer. In the same episode, the Zaku units displayed enough speed to dodge machine gun fire.
In The Threat of Zeon one of these units used the "cracker" which just seems to be a glorified EMP which can damage Gundam.
In the Japanese only episode Doan Cucuruz's Island, the titular Doan Cucuruz used one of these and was effortlessly able to take out Amuro using the Core Fighter. Undoubtedly the fight would've been very different had Amuro had Gundam on him but the Zaku still displayed enough agility to dodge the Core Fighter's missiles and was able to throw a boulder with enough precision to hit one of the missiles. It tanked the resulting explosion but the Core Fighter was easily defeated by it.
Weaknesses
Assuming what Amuro says is true in the episode, Doan Cucuruz's island, Zaku's can be easily disable if one targets their joints and Amuro was confident that the pathetic Core Fighter could disable one using this method had he been skillful enough.
RX-78-2 Gundam
This is the titular Gundam, piloted by the protagonist Amuro Ray. When Amuro got into the cockpit, he quickly used its 60 mm Vulcan Guns to attack one of the two MS-06 Zaku II units. Of course it was still lying down and the Zaku unit fired upon it but fortunately the RX-78-2 Gundam is durable enough to shrug off bullets from the MS-06 Zaku II. While its guns were useless, Amuro was able to use this unit to grab onto one of the Zaku units and effortlessly throw it away, into a multi-story building.
The Gundam also has two beam sabers in its back and was able to effortlessly use one of these to slice through one of the two Zaku units. The Gundam also was durable enough to withstand the resulting explosion. By the way said explosion was powerful enough to destroy pat of the space station which was utilizing artificial gravity. Noticing the amount of collateral damage he inadvertently caused, Amuro was able to use the beam saber and strike with enough precision to merely incapacitate the other Zaku unit.
In Destroy Gundam! this unit was easily able to protect a group of civilians from debris. He also utilized a "super napalm thing" to destroy all of the spare mobile suit parts. Using this weapon, Amuro was easily able to shoot two massive missiles before it hit the space station. During his first fight with Char, the RX-78-2 Gundam was shown to have enough durabilty to withstand an attack from Char which judging by Char's shocked reaction is remarkably impressive. This suit continued to use the beam rifle against Char but failed. At least it was durable enough to withstand fire from not just Char but also Slender. After receiving assistance from the core fighter, Amuro was able to completely one-shot Slender's Zaku using the beam rifle. Char himself states that the beam rifle would have to have power comparable to a battleship's.
In Vote to Attack, Amuro was sent out to attack the Zeon ship Char was commanding as it was resupplying. Amuro displayed enough tactical prowess to realise that if they attacked facing the sun, they would be blind and as such decided to attack with the sun behind him. During this, the RX-78-2 Gundam unit displayed a new piece of equipment: the Hyper Bazooka. This rocket launcher can fire 380mm missiles to attack targets at long range. Just one of these rockets was enough to destroy the bridge between two Zeon ships. These missiles are so powerful they send tremors throughout the entirety of ships.
Later, when Char attacks him, Amuro also shows that the Gundam can use a Shield which can easily block rifle fire as well as physical attacks from Char's Zaku unit. Unfortunately Char still held the upper hand during this battle but Amuro got a break when Char had to help his team. Amuro then fought against Gadem but because Gadem's unit was a Zaku I, it was easily dispatched.
In Escape From Luna II Amuro was easily able to take out an armed guard. He also used Gundam to fight Char yet again and if you're wondering how he keeps being able to hold his own against a much more experienced warrior, its because Gundam has a self-learning system which allows it to adapt to its opponents the more it fights.
In Re-Entry To Earth Gundam was deployed to defend White Base against Char and three other Zakus. Amuro used the Hyper Bazooka but it seemed Char's unit was able to tank one of the missiles. While his tactics were ineffective against Char, Amuro was able to completely destroy one of the other Zaku units using the Vulcan Cannons in its head.
Sayla deployed the Gundam Hammer for Amuro to use and this mace weapon is durable enough to tank one of the missiles fired by Char's Zaku Bazooka. Unfortunately it just seems to be a ball and chain but it is quite effective as a melee weapon. Amuro can throw it with enough precision to block Char's missiles. The Gundam hammer was able to be used with enough precision and strength as to bat away a regular Zaku II unit. This caused enough damage to the Zaku unit that it exploded.
Amuro was then able to deploy re-entry systems so as to prevent Gundam from burning up to re-entry.
In Garma Strikes! though Amuro had difficulty piloting Gundam within Earth's gravitational field, he was still able to use the Vulcan Cannons accurately enough to take out a military aircraft. The beam rifle was able to take out another military vehicle while the shield was able to withstand a point-blank explosion. It was effectively able to snipe several units but the Zeon forces caught on quickly and were able to overwhelm Amuro through sheer teamwork. That is until Amuro threw his weapons away and decided to start throwing their own mobile suits into the tanks. The beam sabers were able to easily slice through tanks as well. As such Amuro made quick work of Garma's forces.
In Winds of War Amuro used Gundam to help save Kai and displayed enough strength to throw the shield into a tank. It also made quick work of Garma's forces.
In Fly! Gundam Amuro was able to use the rocket nozzles on the back of Gundam to engage in aerial combat (not flying, just jumping really high). Gundam displayed enough strength to easily kick through a plane.
In Icelina - Love's Remains Amuro had engineered the beam sabers to be able to transform into a Beam Javelin. This weapon has a higher amount of armor penetration ability and was easily able to penetrate the Gaw's wing (having to go through three separate layers to do so). The Shield easily able to withstand machine gun fire from the Gaw before slicing through the entirety of a battleship. Gundam was durable enough to withstand being rammed by the Gaw as it was falling.
Amuro is also a decent marksman as shown in Coming Home when he was easily able to shoot a Zeon soldier while Amuro was curled up and looking the other way. This episode showed he could also perform a mid-air conversion and then Gundam proceeded to completely destroy the Zeon army base.
In Time, Be Still, Gundam was deployed against a Zeon base. Its vulcan Cannons were effortlessly able to slice through trees as he was attacking the Zeons. Just the mere explosion of one if Gundam's missiles was enough to blow all of the Zeons away. Unfortunately it got outmaneuvered and the Zeon soldiers were able to place multiple bombs on Gundam. Fortunately Gundam was able to swing what was left of the shield with enough force to blow all of the soldiers away before they could blow him up.
Amaro also demonstrated enough skill for bomb disposal and was able to do this extremely quickly. In only 4 minutes, Amaro had removed 2 of the five bombs on Gundam and was moving on to the third. Bare in mind, Gundam has an overall height of 18.5 meters. He easily disposed of another two or three within 6 minutes 40 seconds. This time also accounts for him trying to dig under Gundam to reach the last bomb as well as the time it took Bright and the rest to quickly make it outside of White Base and Hayato into the cockpit to lift Gundam's legs. He got rid of the last bomb seconds after this.
In Zeon's Secret Mine, Amuro used Gundam against a mining facility and easily took care of things. However, he had to face off against a new mobile suit: the MAX-03 Adzam which curb-stomped him. Having said that, the Gundam was still able to move after being inside the Leader and was able to use the Shield to block machine gun fire. Apparently a Zaku would've been severely weakened by the same attack. Gundam was then able to destroy the Leader with his beam rifle. Gundam then jumped into the air and stabbed the Adzam using the beam javelin. it was able to tank being smashed into rocks and was able to dodge the Adzam's particle cannons at close range.
In Ramba Ral's Attack Gundam was used to fight against the Gouf. The fight eventually came down to the two units using beam sabers which resulted in Gundam being agile enough to slip under the Gouf and cut off its arm before finally destroying the Gouf.
In Hand-to-Hand Combat, Sayla piloted Gundam against Ramba's forces. Gundam displayed enough durability to tank several missiles to the head. After some advice from amuro, Sayla was able to shoot the Zaku in the head with the beam rifle. Later in the episode Amuro, now piloting Gundam, was able to one-shot the Gallop.
In Hatred and Sorrow, the Gundam was able to take out three of the four Megella Top attack jets while also holding off the Gallop. It was also durable enough to withstand shots fired from the fourth Magella Top at point-blank.
In The Trap of M'Quve Gundam was easily able to destroy a Gouf unit. Later in the episode he is instrumental in destroying four more with one of them being with a de-powered beam saber. He also is able to snipe the mega-particle cannon that took down White Base.
In Black Tri-star Amuro used Gundam against the Doms. He was easily able to dodge missiles fired at him. He powered through their "jetstream attack" and effortlessly sliced through one of the Doms. The other two retreated.
In The Battle of Odessa Gundam was able to easily defeat one of the two remaining Doms by slicing through it with its beam saber. He was then able to do the same to the second before slicing through a nuclear missile with enough precision to cause it not to explode.
In Char Returns, the Gundam fought two Goggs and revealed that it had its Gundam Hammer upgraded into the Hyper Hammer which adds multiple rockets for increased speed. The Gundam was also fast enough to react to the Gogg's mega particle guns.Later on Gundam engaged a Gogg in underwater combat where it had the disadvantage. Though it had minor difficulty, it was able to destroy the Gogg with two sword slices from the beam rifle.
In Across the Atlantic Ocean, Gundam was used against a Grublo. Even though the beam rifle was operating at 50% capacity, it was still able to melt one of the Grublo's arms. He was then able to easily take out the Grublo with his beam saber.
In A Wish of War Orphans, Gundam was able to easily defeat three Acguys as well as disarm Char's Z'Gok unit.
In A Decoy in Space, Gundam fought Bigro and was able to dodge a close-range Mega Particle Cannon before one-shotting it with the beam rifle. Also Amuro was able to recover from feinting mere minutes after doing so.
In Breakthrough, Gundam was deployed and was able to destroy a Dom's cameras with its Vulcan Cannons. Gundam was then able to destroy a Musai and sliced through the bridge of another one (Musai's are small battleships) before easily defeating another Dom.
In Farewell in Side 6, Gundam was deployed to defeat White Base and in doing so it was able to defeat 9 Dom's in under 3 minutes.
In A Fateful Encounter, Amuro's Newtype abilities seemed to be springing up. For example he knew that the individual that towed his car was Char Aznable before Char introduced himself. In combat, he was able to predict enemies moves and plan accordingly, with one such example being able to know when a Dom was right behind him. He was also able pinpoint a battleship's weak spots to prevent it from doing a kamikaze attack.
In The Glory of Solomon Gundam was able to one-shot a battleship with the beam rifle. Gundam was also able to singlehandedly take out a Musai with four shots from the beam rifle.
In Big Zam's Last Stand after the titular Big Zam destroyed the G-Armor, Amuro used Gundam against it and was able to penetrate its barrier using the beam saber. It is important to note that this barrier was able to withstand a barrage of energy beams and yet, the beam saber was able to penetrate it. Amuro's Newtype powers allowed him to see the darkness within Dozle Zabi.
In The Duel in Texas, Gundam fought against four Doms. It was easily able to dodge a rocket before blowing up three more. After defeating the Doms, Amuro fought M'Quve in his new mobile suit, the YMS-15 Gyan. M'Quve was able to lure Amuro into a trap but Amuro's Newtype abilities as well as Gundam's Lunar Titanium Armor allowed Gundam to get away from an asteroid-sized blast fairly unscathed.
Gundam then had to face Char in his new mobile suit but the battle was interrupted by M'Quve who wanted to face Gundam alone. Gundam was agile enough to dodge quite a few close-range sword strikes. Though M'Quve put up quite a fight, Gundam's twin beam sabers ultimately landed Amuro the win.
In Char and Sayla Amuro's Newtype abilities seem to function just like Spiderman's spider-sense, warning him when he's in danger but not telling him what the danger is. He was able to dodge a shot from Char's beam rifle but did not know if Char was the one attacking him or if it was a different enemy. After that he engages Char in combat. Fortunately his Newtype abilities allowed him to either dodge every shot or block the shots with his beam saber.
In The Newtype: Challia Bull, Amuro's Newtype abilities allowed him to know that a Newtype pilot was approaching and that it wasn't Lalah. Amuro then had to fight the Braw Bro and was able to use Gundam to dodge its Mega Particle Cannons. Apparently Amuro would not have been able to dodge these if he were not a Newtype. Gundam was able to continue dodging the Braw Bro's attacks but started to overheat. Amuro was then able to use his Newtype abilities to find where the Braw Bro was. After that all that was needed was one shot from the beam rifle to finish the battle.
In Lalah's Dilemma, Amuro was able to accurately predict the exact position Char would be and get him with his beam rifle. He also had to deal with Lalah and her homing rockets. While dealing with another Newtype pilot, he was able to literally disarm the Gelgoog.
In A Cosmic Glow, Amuro's Newtype abilities started becoming more advanced and he was able to predict exactly where the drones were going to be and where and when he needed to fire the beam rifle. the shield was able to withstand the Elmeth's Mega Particle Cannons. As both Gundam and the Elmeth were fighting, Amuro was able to telepathically communicate with Lalah.
Gundam then had to fight Char as well but Amuro's Newtype abilities not only blocked his beam naginta from killing Sayla but Amuro disarmed the Gelgoog and nearly killed Char had it not been for Lalah knocking Char out of the way. At the end of the episode, Amuro's precognition allowed him to detect the solar ray and the devastating impact it'll have.
In Space Fortress: A Baoa Qu, Amuro fought Char yet again and Gundam was able to easily dodge the Zeong's Mega Particle Guns.
In Escape, Gundam proved to be more than a match for the Zeong though the Zeong was able to disarm it.
Amuro then let the Gundam be destroyed to find Char and had his own jetpack for flight capabilities. He and Char then fought each other without mechs and both of them were able to dodge close-range gunfire. Soon they ditched the guns and opted for swords but neither one of them was able to truly defeat the other although Char did manage to wound Amuro far better.
In Vote to Attack, Amuro was sent out to attack the Zeon ship Char was commanding as it was resupplying. Amuro displayed enough tactical prowess to realise that if they attacked facing the sun, they would be blind and as such decided to attack with the sun behind him. FF-X7 Core Fighter
Each Gundam implements the Core Block System. While the frame of the mobile suit is the best for offensive and defensive capabilities, the core block of the mobile suit can detach itself from the frame so that the pilot can escape. The core fighter possesses remarkable speed and has a 25 mm Vulcan Gun that can piece the hull of battleships.
In Matilda's Rescue, the Core Fighter was able to take out a Gouf with its missiles.
In Escape, Amuro used this to escape from Solomon. He also demonstrated the ability to see other people on the other side of the battlefield. He was accurately able to give Sayla directions out of Solomon telepathically. In fact he was able to tell everyone on White Base exactly what they needed to do if they wanted to survive.

G-Fighter
This is a support unit for the RX-78-2 Gundam and made its debut in the episode Matilda's Rescue. After taking a massive beating by a Gouf, Hayato was forced to get Gundam to ride on this jet. Fortunately it possesses enough capability to hold the RX-78-2 Gundam. As a result this jet grants Gundam superior flight capabilities (in a way). It possesses enough speed to dodge missiles and its beam cannons can easily blow up a fighter jet.
In the episode Black Tri-star, it is stated that it is possible to connect both Gundam and the G-Fighter manually if need be. However, it will stall if the speed is under 600 km/h. This practically confirms that either Gundam or the G-Fighter (or both) can move at speeds exceeding 600km/h.
In A Decoy in Space, the G-Fighter was able to one-shot a Dom with its beam cannons. As The Glory of Solomon shows, it can consistently one-shot Doms. The Duel in Texas reinforced this.

G-Armor
This is the combined form of the G-Fighter and Gundam and it made its first appearance in the episode Black Tri-star. The G-Armor was able to tank a missile fired at it by a Dom. The G-Armor is armed with a beam cannon that lasts approximately "3 times longer than Gundam's". The G-Armor also has missile launchers located in its rear.
In Big Zam's Last Stand, the G-Armor was able to easily one-shot Zakus and Doms.
G-Bull
This tank is the result of Gundam's A module and the Core Fighter combining. It is incredibly durable, able to withstand the force from a direct beam blast by a Gogg. Its beam cannons are powerful enough to one-shot a Gogg.
G-Sky
In its combat debut, A Decoy in Space, the G-Sky was able to take quite a lot of abuse, including a missile barrage and two Mega Particle Cannons from a MA-05 Bigro. Amuro was then able to fire missiles at the G-Bull with enough precision to slow its descent but not destroy it.
In Breakthrough, the G-Sky fought against the Zakrello which had been able to overwhelm the Guntank. Though the Zakrello, was able to get two solid hits on it, the second was predicted by the computer and the G-Sky was able to defeat it using the beam saber.

Weaknesses
- The beam rifle, while powerful, has a limit to the amount of times it can be used.
- The Hyper Bazooka is also an extremely powerful weapon but is quite slow and also has a very limited amount of ammunition.
- Gundam's targeting system does have its limits and Amuro won't be able to lock on to enemies if they're too far away.
- Amuro is extremely reckless and multiple times has had to be stopped by his companions to prevent him from doing any damage to himself. This is clear in Re-Entry to Earth where despite knowing the risks continued to pursue a Zaku unit during re-entry. This resulted in him nearly dying and the only reason he survived was due to Gundam's re-entry systems.
- The Shield does have its limits and will break upon continuous attacks
- Amuro also has limits to how long he can continue fighting and if he continues fighting for long enough, he will get "combat fatigue" which will hinder his performance in battle as shown in The Threat of Zeon.
- Despite Gundam's speed, it can and has been outmaneuvered by smaller vehicles as shown in Time, Be Still.
- Due to the combined weight of both Gundam and the G-Fighter, the G-Armor is quite slow in comparison to either.
- As Amuro's Newtype abilities give him enhanced reflexes, Gundam struggles to keep up with Amuro and will overheat.
MS-06S Zaku II Commander Type
This is the primary mech used by Commander Char of the Zeon army. It made its debut in the second episode of the series Destroy Gundam! However, before talking about the mobile suit's capabilities, Char is no rookie in the combat department either. He has a jetpack for flight capabilities and was agile enough to easily dodge laser fire from three separate people. He also has access to grenades which are powerful enough to blow holes through steel doors. He is also incredibly intelligent being able to outwit Amuro and knowing that while Amuro was trying to use the Gundam's systems to zero in on him, knew that it would be best not to make any sudden moves considering he's "small and hard to target".
Now this unit moves much faster than standard Zakus and was stated to be moving "three times normal speed". This statement alone was enough for the captain to realize it was Char, the Red Comet. Apparently Char was able to singlehandedly take out five battleships of the Earth Federation. The suit itself was able to easily dodge a laser fired from the RX-78-2 Gundam's beam rifle and was able to fire upon said Gundam. This unit continued to dodge Amuro's attacks. However, upon seeing the true power of the RX-78-2 Gundam, Char decided to go for a tactical retreat.
In Vote to Attack Char was able to shoot down to missiles that were fired by the RX-78-2 Gundam unit. However, it should be noted that he was expecting these missiles and had been attacked by them for a few minutes at least. Char then attacked Amuro directly and even was able to force the Gundam on the defensive. The Zaku unit he was piloting displayed a Shield which can easily block gunfire from the Gundam's Vulcan Cannon while still being agile enough to dodge its missiles at close range. Char displayed enough tactical prowess to study Amuro's fighting style and use it to his advantage during their second round. Because of this, he constantly held the advantage during their second bout.
In Escape From Luna II, Char was able to lead a successful assault on Luna II. Bare in mind that at this point, Char has realized he is completely out-manned and out-gunned yet was still able to out-wit Admiral Waikken, the tactical leader in charge of Luna II. He was able to manipulate the admiral's actions into putting the Magellan right where Char had mined the area, effectively crippling one of their best ships while also blocking the exit.
Later in the episode Char, once again, fought Amuro and his Gundam. He was easily able to dodge two of the Gundam's missiles before displaying the Heat Hawk Type 5. This axe uses a heated blade and was easily able to cut through the RX-78-2 Gundam's rifle. Char was able to dodge the Gundam's Vulcan cannons at close range before using the Heat Hawk to block the Gundam's beam saber.
In Re-Entry To Earth Char seized the opportunity to attack White Base while it was preparing for re-entry. His Zaku seemed to be able to tank one of the Gundam's missiles before deploying the Zaku Bazooka; a weapon which fires explosive rounds powerful enough to pierce the RX-78-2 Gundam's shield in one shot.
In The Core Fighter's Escape, Char, once again, fight Amuro but this time the rules are a bit different. Because both combatants are in Earth's gravitational field, both of them have to fight in a freefall situation. They only have an estimate of 80 seconds before the Gundam reaches the ground. Because of the limitations of their battle, they can only use long-range attacks and Char's experience allows him to dominate the battle even when White Base intervenes and shoots missiles at him.
In Garma's Fate Char once again fought Amuro so nothing new. However, Char was able to manipulate both sides of the battlefield and was able to get the Federation to destroy Garma's ship, the Gaw.
In Icelina - Love's Remain Char was able to singlehandedly bring down White Base using one fighter jet. After which Char killed a couple civilians before getting into a gunfight with Bright, Hayato and Kai. It didn't last long and Char got back into the fighter jet after it.

RX-75-4 Guntank
This mobile suit is an extremely powerful tank. Its shoulder cannons can effortlessly one-shot aircraft and it was able to damage the Papua ship. It is also durable enough to withstand multiple explosions at once.
In Ramba Ral's Attack the Guntank demonstrated that the top half could be ejected allowing for the co-pilot to easily dispatch the Core Fighter.
In Ramba Ral's Attack the Guntank demonstrated that the top half could be ejected allowing for the co-pilot to easily dispatch the Core Fighter.
Weaknesses
Unfortunately its mobility leaves a lot to be desired and it has to be piloted by two people instead of one.
RX-77-2 Guncannon
This mobile suit made its debut in the episode Winds of War and was piloted by the incredibly snarky Kai. It has thrusters so as to safely land and is durable enough to withstand multiple explosions as well as machine gun fire.. As you can see it has twin cannons located on its shoulders and the rounds fired can easily destroy tanks and aircraft.
In Sayla's Agony, Amuro was forced to use this mobile suit after Sayla stole Gundam. As a result he was able to get a hit on Ramba's Gouf after it gave Gundam a massive beating. The 240 mm Cannons on its shoulders was easily able to create a small crater in the desert. The Guncannon ten showed itself to be agile enough to dodge the Gouf's rod. The Guncannon displayed having Vulcan Cannons and was able to fire a blast powerful enough from the main cannons to one-shot a Zaku II unit.It displayed enough hand-to-hand prowess to defeat another Zaku.
In A Spy on Board, Kai was quickly able to figure out Miharu was a Zeon spy. He was then able to pilot Guntank with greater efficiency than Hayato did and actually put up a fight against the Z'gok. His perceptive skills would come again handy in the next episode when he realized a civilian aircraft was actually harboring Zeons.
In Tragedy in Jaburo, Guncannon was able to one-shot a Gogg with his beam rifle. In Breakthrough, he was able to repeat this with a Dom. He was also able to repeat this with several different mobile suits in The Glory of Solomon.
Weaknesses
- The cannons have limited ammunition and during Kai's first run, the Guncannon easily ran out.
- This mobile suit is one of the slowest mobile suits there is.
MS-07 Gouf
This unit was used by Ramba Ral and made its debut in The Threat of Zeon. Its main weapon is a Heat Rod which can grapple and electrify other mobile suits. It also possesses a 120 mm machine gun which can easily damage Gundam. It has access to a Shield which can easily block rounds fired by the RX-72-8 Gundam's Vulcan Cannons. Ramba Ral also displayed impressive piloting skills and was able to prevent the Gundam's beam sabers from hitting him.
In their second encounter, Ramba Ral was easily able to defeat Gundam but that was because Sayla, an inexperienced pilot, was in the cockpit instead of Amuro. When the Guncannon showed up, Ramba was able to use the Gouf to dodge its energy blasts and hide under the ground to sneak attack the Gundam. The Gouf displayed enough agility to dodge attacks from not just GunCannon but also the Guntank.
In Amuro Deserts, the Gouf proved to be superior to Guntank and nearly destroyed Guncannon. Even when Gundam was deployed, the Gouf was still able to effectively dodge its attacks and it took the main cannons from White Base to get it to retreat. Note that it did tank the beam cannons resulting
damaged caused enough damage to its joints that it would not be able to fight effectively.
In Ramba Ral's Attack, Ramba was able to locate and attack White Base. The Gouf demonstrated its superiority by being able to damage the Guncannon. The Gouf was easily able to defeat the Guncannon through use of the heat rod before it was shot off by Gundam. Ramba revealed that the Gouf had a computer that could predict enemy attacks and was easily able to dodge Gundam's attacks. It also demonstrated to deploy a heat sword which is practically a light saber and was easily able to slice through Gundam's shield. Unfortunately Gundam proved to have superior skill in a sword fight and easily destroyed the Gouf.
In Hand-to-Hand Combat Ramba Ral was forced to forgo the mobile suit and was able to successfully infiltrate White Base. During a gun fight he was able to tank several gun-shot wounds and a shot from Gundam's beam rifle. He only died because he jumped outside with a molotov and allowed himself to be blown up.

Weaknesses
- Enough damage to the joints will cause it to be unable to fight effectively.
MAX-03 Adzam
This suit debuted in the episode Zeon's Secret Mine and was used to take care of Amuro and his Gundam. It boasts superior durability and was easily able to tank shots fired from both Vulcan
Cannons and the beam rifle, which if you've forgotten has power comparable to a battleship. It's equipment is Twin Barrel Mega Particle Gun and the Leader which is a grenade that is full of conductive dust material followed by a cage that covers the target in plasma. By the Gundam's own readings, this results in the area inside the cage being approximately 4,000 degrees. To merely protect Amuro, Gundam had to release 98% of its entire energy reserve and as Amuro best puts it, he can't move then. However, Gundam was able to recover quickly as as soon as Leader was turned off, Gundam was able to react to machine gun fire and destroy the Leader. Gundam was then able to demonstrate its full capabilities and was able to kick its ass.
MS-09B Dom
These units are essentially the new Zakus, being mass-produced units typically used by mooks. The Doms first made an appearance in the episode Black Tri-star where they were used by the itular black tristars. During the episode, they displayed the extra-ordinary ability to fly, something that most of the mechs before now only had a limited capacity to do so. The Doms move faster than the targeting systems of mobile suits can track. While the mobile suits do get a lock on them, the Doms have already moved out of said lock when the pilot fires. The Doms are armed with a 360 mm Giant Bazooka that fires explosive rounds at the opponent. The Doms are fast enough to dodge shots fired by the G-Armor's beam cannons.
The Doms are also durable enough to render the Vulcan Cannons useless. The Dom also has a Scattering Beam Gun located in it chest and though its not particularly useful as an offensive weapon, it can still produce a bright flash.
During the Battle of Odessa, the two remaining Doms were able to take out Guntank and Guncannon with ease while also shooting down the G-Armor. When they had to fight Gundam, they were able to slice through a large boulder.

MSM-03 Gogg
This mobile suit made its debut in the episode Char Returns. It is outfitted with Super-High Tensile Steel which allows it to be incredibly durable and can tank shots fired by the Vulcan Cannons with ease. It is also incredibly strong and was able to catch the Hyper Hammer with ease. The Goggs are also equipped with a Mega Particle Cannon for long range.
MSM-07 Z'Gok
This unit is an improvement over the Gogg and made its debut in the episode A Spy on Board, during which it was able to effortlessly defeat the Guncannon using its missile launcher and Mega Particle Cannon. Its heavily implied to have enough strength to rip both of the Guncannon's arms off. However, it did get held off by the Guntank and the only reason it lasted as long as it did against Gundam was because of its massive advantage underwater.
In Across the Atlantic Ocean the Z'gok unit was able to fire missiles capable of damaging White Base and its Mega Particle Cannon came in handy when fighting the Core Fighter. However, the G-Fighter was able to one-shot it.
MAM-07 Grublo
This submarine mobile suit made its debut in the episode Across the Atlantic Ocean and was able to fire missiles capable of damaging the White Base and the G-Fighter. it is durable enough to withstand a shot from Gundam's beam rifle at half power.
MSM-07S Z'Gok Commander Type
This is Char Aznable's second mobile suit within Mobile Suit Gundam. As you can tell its a much, more powerful version of the Z'gok. Making its debut in Tragedy in Jaburo, this unit fought against the Federation and was strong enough to lift and one-shot tanks. Its claws are strong enough to pierce through the armor of GMs which are made out of titanium alloy and ceramic composite. It then fought against Gundam where it was fast enough to dodge Gundam's beam rifle. Its Mega Particle Cannons are strong enough to pierce Gundam's Shield.
In A Wish of War Orphans, this mobile suit was able to fire a blast powerful enough to create a sizable amount of debris and prevented Amuro from being able to see him.
Lalah Sune
Lalah sune is a powerful Newtype with Mobile Suit Gundam. In her first appearance, A Fateful Encounter, her precognition was powerful enough to know when a swan was going to crash into the lake despite no prior signs of it being unable to keep flying. Despite not knowing who Amuro or Gundam were, she was able to accurately predict that Gundam would win the battle against Conscon when the odds were stacked against it.
In The Glory of Solomon, her psychic abilities seem to be able to grant her some kind of levitation and she is easily able to negate the effects of gravity on herself.
According to Doctor Flanigan in The Duel in Texas, Lalah was able to hit the test targets with a 70% success rate. She can also sense other Newtypes as she was able to sense Amuro close by (and by close by I mean directly above her in space while she was on the ground in Texas). Lalah eventually figured this out and was able to use telepathy to communicate with Amuro.
In The Newtype: Challia Bull, Lalah was able to use her mobile suit, MAN-08 Elmeth, with such efficiency that the Federation could not detect her. It is implied that she used her Newtype powers to achieve this and a minor result of this caused Amuro to have hallucinations.
She also showed to be a bit of an empath, knowing that Challia Bull was not doing things out of concern for Char Aznable.
In Lalah's Dilemma, the Elmeth was able to take down battleships. She was also able to hold her own against Amuro and his Gundam and according to the narrator, she was able to take out four ships in one day.

Weaknesses
- The voltage used for Lalah's brainwaves has a tendency to surge backwards which will result in Lalah being exhausted more easily.
MA-08 Big Zam
This mobile suit only has one prominent appearance, Big Zam's Last Stand, where it was piloted by Dozle Zabi. It proved to be extremely powerful with the Large Mega Particle Gun located in its chest able to completely eradicate mobile suits such as GMs in one-shot. In fact this weapon is so powerful it can one-shot entire battleships. The Big Zam also has an I-Field Barrier Generator, which is used to negate the effects of energy beams. The Big Zam's claws were able to destroy part of the G-Armor.
MS-14S Gelgoog Commander Type
This is the third mobile suit used by Char Aznable, making its debut in The Duel in Texas. This mobile suit was designed to counter the RX-78-2 Gundam and has weapons mirroring that of the Gundam's. It is so heavy that it can cause tremors just by walking and has thrusters powerful enough to achieve flight capabilities. It also has its own beam rifle. The Gelgoog is also durable enough to withstand indirect blasts from Gundam's beam rifle. The Gelgoog was able to protect Lalah from the blast that was the result of the Gyan's destruction.
In the next episode, Char was able to figure out that Amuro was a Newtype and was able to fire shots from his beam rifle to cause a landslide. As the battle continued, Amuro eventually found where Char was hiding but fortunately the armor of the Gelgoog is durable enough to withstand the beam saber. Char eventually realized he was outmatched but fortunately he was able to hit Gundam's jet thrusters to prevent it from flying.
Challia Bull
Challia Bull is another Newtype pilot and the character the audience uses to truly understand what a Newtype is. His Newtype abilities allow a form of mind reading and Challia was able to correctly tell Gihren that he wanted Challia to serve under Kycillia Zabi. Challia's Newtype abilities allowed Challia to sense Lalah's "pulse" (Newtype not heart) as well as see what personality Char had.
MAN-03 Braw Bro
Challia's main mobile suit and this is one of the few mobile suits to be specifically fine-tuned to the abilities of Newtype pilots. It has access to several Mega Particle Cannons which can easily destroy the Gundam's shield. As a result of it being fine-tuned to Challia's Newtype abilities, the Braw Bro has much greater speed to the point of Hayato thinking there was more than one enemy mobile suit. The Braw Bro was easily able to destroy the Guncannon's legs.
Weaknesses
- Challia's mind reading has its limits; while he was able to correctly read Gihren's mind to see that he was to serve under Kycillia, mere moments afterward he was unable to read Gihren's mind to find the reason why.
MSN-02 Zeong
This prototype mobile suit is that last mobile suit Char Aznable piloted in Mobile Suit Gundam. Though its missing its legs (and is thus only 80% complete), in a zero gravity environment it can fight with 100% efficiency. It made its debut in Space Fortress: A Baoa Qu and was effortlssly able to use its Mega Particle Cannons to destroy a battleship. The resulting explosion took out most of the enemy fleet. Char also started to demonstrate Newtype abilities and was easily able to sense Gundam and the fact that Amuro was piloting it.
In Escape, the Zeong is quickly destroyed by the Gundam but fortunately the cockpit is located in the head rather than in the chest like most mobile suits. As such Char can still use the head to try and escape. The head also has a Mega Particle Cannon which easily decapitated Gundam. When they met again, this cannon was used to destroy the Gundam.
After both mechs were destroyed and Amuro and Char could not defeat each other, Char decided to kill the last Zabi that he knew of. He used his jetpack to get into a prime position before using a rocket launcher to decapitate Kycilia Zabi.
